Description of Work

SEE-ERA-NET is structured in eight work packages (WP).
WP1-3 are designed to enable systematic exchange of information and good practice concerning the running bilateral programmes. WP2 puts additionally a strong analytical emphasis on the needs of the West Balkan countries as regards international RTD co-operation in order to fine-tune our forthcoming activities. WP3 emphasises the identification of synergies at the project level.
On basis of WP1-3, WP4 as most central work package is designed to identify in a structured communication and decision-making process potential strategic activities between the different bilateral RTD programmes. Based upon the outcome of WP4, a series of joint activities of the consortium participants using the flexibility of the variable geometry will be operationally prepared and implemented under WP5.

Finally a pilot RTD programme for Southeast Europe will be established under WP6. A joint call for proposals will be launched in a specific / not yet defined / scientific and technological area. The in the meanwhile established transnational evaluation system will be fully exploited for this purpose. Also the commonly agreed rules and regulations and the committed code of conduct (governance regime) as regards this major exercise will be applied. The selected projects will be funded under a yet to be defined financial regime and monitored. Lessons learnt will be comprehended and the ground for sustainable follow-up activities explored. WP1-6 will be accompanied by WP7, which facilitates the internal and external communication and public relations. Finally, WP8 assists all work packages through a pro-active project management. All participating countries and organisations are involved in all work packages.
