From fragmentation to cooperation: tertiary education, research, and development in South Eastern Europe (2008-08-19 11:28:03)
The World Bank’s working paper, published in June 2008, examines the challenges that Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia face in order to have a labour force with a significant pool of people with tertiary education qualification. These people, however, will be needed to meet increasing demand for highly-skilled labour and support economic growth.

Mobility Programme Sarajevo - Zagreb - Vienna for managers in regional cooperation (Task Force BHC) (2008-08-07 14:05:57)
The Task Force proposes to organise short term placements at key institutions working in the area of cooperation for building human capital. Support the joint SCORE – WBC-INCO.NET networking session at ICT 2008 (2008-07-30 14:47:19)
The FP projects SCORE “Strengthening the Strategic Cooperation Between the EU and Western Balkan Region in the field of ICT” and WBC-INCO.NET “Co-ordination of Research Policies with the WB Countries” have recently joined their forces and submitted a common proposal for a networking session on the ICT research priorities for strategic cooperation with the Western Balkan Region, at ICT 2008.

Innovation Infrastructure in the Western Balkan Countries - April 2008 (2008-04-30 14:39:37)
The updated version of the publication ‘Innovation Infrastructure in Western Balkan Countries’ provides an overview of the situation as regards innovation infrastructures such as clusters, technology and innovation centres, technology and science parks, business-start-up centres/ technology incubators in following countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia/UNMIK Kosovo.
All six reports were compiled in summer 2007, published in printed version in October 2007 and updated in April 2008.

SEE-ERA.NET PLUS negotiations started with the EC (2008-03-20 10:16:32)
The coordinator of the SEE-ERA.NET PLUS consortium was invited by the EC on 10 June, to start the negotiations. The idea of SEE-ERA.NET PLUS is to fund new, multilateral research projects incl national and EC funding. The overal budget of this new call for rtd proposals will be approx Mio €4,8.-
